Age 7+

To participate in this class you must have a minimum of RecGym Level 4

Gymstart is a competitive programme designed for girls and boys who train at a recreational level. The focus remains on participation and personal achievement, children progress at their own pace in a fun, encouraging and supportive environment.

Gymstart is a 2 hour class and prepares gymnast for competition on 2 apparatus; floor and Vault. It is also a precursor for selection to our competitive squads. 

Initially gymnasts work on skills in the Gymstart Award scheme

The Gymstart Awards are fun, progressive and reward-based. So plenty to work for!

The gymnasts will have the option to participate in our own in house competitions to help build their confidence and improve their performance skills.

They will also prepare the community games routines and have the option of competing for their local area, county and national finals if successful. 

There are 2 national events in the year organised by Gymnastics Ireland which our Gymstart kids work towards and have the opportunity to attend when ready

1. Gymstart Challenge

The Gymstart Challenge is based on the Gymstart Awards, designed specifically to provide gymnasts of all ages and abilities with a fun and progressive event to take part in where the focus is on fun, friendship and celebrating personal achievement.

2. Gymstart Competition

A national competitive event based on the Gymstart Awards. This event is specifically designed for recreational gymnasts and aims to provide an opportunity to experience competition within a fun and relaxed environment while celebrating personal achievement.

Friday 5.30 - 7.30pm

Saturday 12.10 - 2.10

Annual Membership: €75.00
